Actually named Friends Cemetary, Spider Gates is surrounded by local legend. Some aren't quite so favorable. Or so true, either.
Its been said to contain 8 gates, the 8th gate leads to hell. While an interesting story, its not true. Spider Gates has only one entrance leading to the cemetary, definately not to hell.
A pretty little cemetary, very well kept, lying deep in the woods. It was once a location of a Quaker Meetinghouse. The footprint of the meetinghouse is still visable creating what various stories call the "altar". It does indeed look like an altar. Its a raised platform surrounded by trees. Looking at it, one can definately visualize it being an altar for a Pagan ceremony or a fairy ring.
We have as of this writing gone on 3 investigations. Two during the day, one at night.  There is a calm atmosphere during the day and at night. We got minimal activity, but, do plan on further investigations in the future. There is an energy there of sorts and does look as though there may be something to the stories, but, probably not as dramatic as have been reported.

The above photo is of a row of stones all with family members names "Earle". Stories say that if one walks around the stone of Marmaduke Earle (1st stone) three times and then puts an ear to the ground, Old Marmaduke will talk. We didn't try it just because we felt silly doing it.

The photo on the bottom is of the platform. Where the "altar" is located.

More photos will be put up soon.
